     Pacific Northwest artist JR Hawse will be Gallery North’s featured artist through the month of October 2008. Tales from the Garden of Light and Shadow is a colorful collection of original paintings, bringing to life nature as seen through the eyes of a storyteller. Each scene chronicles an instant when the viewer is transported from the normal to the sublime.

     The public is invited to meet the artist at her reception on Sunday, October 5^th from 1:00 to 5:00PM and at the Edmonds Art Walk on Thursday, October 16^th from 5:00 – 8:00PM. Light refreshments will be served.

JR Hawse, an acrylic painter, specializes in wildlife and animal portraiture as well as landscape paintings. She attended the University of Washington School of Art and her paintings have been shown in numerous exhibitions. JR Hawse is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Seattle Co-Arts, and Gallery North.

As well as painting, JR is a lampwork artist and creates a variety of unique jewelry pieces using glass beads made in her studio. Many of these pieces will also be available for viewing and sale.
