Gallery North presents
“Spreading the Fire,” a luminous collection of paintings by
well-known Pacific Northwest artist June McCallum. Each
painting amplifies Christian themes with the use of bright
and radiant colors in watercolor, acrylic, and multi-media
collage.
The inspiration for this
collection comes from June’s personal wish to give thanks
for her life’s miracles. Through her 86 years she has
experienced many challenges including polio as a child and
other severe illnesses as an adult. Despite the odds, June
has been able to “pull through” and continue to paint and
share her creative passion with others. “This is my thank
you,” said June. “I want to do this now while I still can.”
The public is invited to meet
June McCallum on Sunday, March 8th at her artist’s reception
from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Gallery North. Light refreshments
will be served. The artist will also be available on
Thursday, March 19th for the Edmonds Art Walk from 5:00 –
8:00 p.m.
June McCallum, a resident of
Edmonds, is a prolific artist who has numerous awards and
accolades to her credit. Her rich career history includes
exhibitions at the Frye Museum and other prominent
venues, abundant honors including several First Place awards
at the Edmonds Art Festival, and years of incredible
volunteer service helping others enjoy the satisfaction of
creating.
June is a member of Gallery
North and contributes new works monthly.
