Gallery North invites visitors to take a trip to Hawaii this
July with acrylic artist Karen Schneider and her show
Treasured Maps and
Memories. Karen has created a visual diary of a
recent trip to the beautiful islands where the weather is
sublime and travel memories are rich in color and
composition.
A few of the paintings in the show were created plein air
and the rest from memory. Many reflect the joy of her
vacation with her son Zach and his wife Naya as they
strolled along the shore to Kiholo Bay, passing the Queen’s
Pools along the way. Huge protected sea turtles were laying
about while the more energetic sea birds played in the surf.
Karen Schneider's others paintings include memories of Lake
Erie where she grew up. Karen attended New York’s Alfred
University where she began her formal art training.
The public is invited to meet Karen Schneider at the
Artist's Reception on Sunday, July 5th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm
and again at the Edmonds Art Walk on July 16th from 5:00 –
8:00 p.m.
Refreshments will be served.
Please join us!
Treasured Maps and Memories
will be on display from July 1st through July 31st.
