JR Hawse - Lampwork Jewelry
When people say I like to play with fire, they are not joking. To create my lampwork jewelry I start with an oxygen-propane torch and Venetian glass rod, melting the glass, forming it in to shapes, and then decorating with molten glass. Then the beads go directly into a kiln to be annealed.

It can get very exciting because glass sometimes has a mind of its own, but sometimes the magic happens when you least expect it and a beautiful bead is born out of the flame.

The beads are then put into jewelry, usually with sterling silver or 14k gold fill wire. Each piece is unique.
