Karen
Towey is a local artist that has a passion for sculpting with clay
and has created a wonderful variety of unique clay
objects that are now on display at Gallery
North.
Some of Karen's signature pieces include a
series of masks that display both faces and hands, raku fish and
jars that are fired with metallic glazes, and other distinctive
pottery creation that include elements from nature and imagination.
As well as creating and showing her art both
locally and abroad, Karen teaches drawing, painting, art history,
and ceramics at Archbishop Murphy High School in Everett. She earned
her Masters in Teaching and a Post Graduate Professional Teaching
Certificate from Seattle University.
